About Alison

Alison is a financial advisor, specialising in personal financial planning.
She has a degree from UCT and became a fellow of the Institute of Life and Pension Advisors in 1996. (Subsequently changed to FPI.)

The FPI is a representative, professional institute for testing, protecting, developing and maintaining standards of competence and ethics of persons engaged in personal financial planning and advice. As a member Alison is bound by the Code of Conduct and the Generally Accepted Planning Practice as laid down by this body.

Alison has gained invaluable experience in various areas of the financial services industry. She started her career at TMA Investment Products Services, one of the first linked product providers. She then became a broker consultant at Liberty Life where she was able to use her ILPA training in assisting financial advisors. Alison was subsequently employed as a client executive at Plexus Asset Management. At that stage Plexus was one of the few companies offering managed unit trust portfolios and here she gained excellent investment experience. Four years at Grant Thornton Financial Planning Services followed where Alison was a very successful financial advisor. Prior to establishing AMAC Financial Management Services, she enjoyed a 12 year partnership at McLagan Harvey & Associates.

Armed with investment and life office experience, the theoretical knowledge gained through studying and more than 20 years experience; Alison has all the tools necessary to analyse clients’ existing portfolios and offer sound advice to meet clients’ personal financial planning goals.
